My husbandís grandmother was Katherine (Kate) Bell McGrogan Gibney. She and her sister Josephine (Phine) McGrogan Galvin were one room school teachers in Java, Wyoming County, New York. I have found a autograph book that was given to Josephine by her father Henry Joseph McGrogan in 1887. I will list the names signed in this book in hopes that someone may find an ancestor. I do not know anything else about these people, but it may help someone locate a relation.

1). The first autograph was from Katie McGrogan on September 2, 1887 when Kate was 13 years old.

2). The next was from Carrie Delaney on July 25, 1887.

The messages are not too different from what young girls would write to each other today. This book is a well loved family treasure. If someone finds a relation in this list I will gladly send them a copy of the autograph.
